How is reading aloud to children one of the best ways to help them discover the joy of reading?

  1. When teachers and parents read aloud with children, it encourages them to read on their own, helps them become better readers, better listeners, and better students. I just completed a course in Early childhood education and teaching practice. I noticed that the books I read to the students, they picked them up and tried to read them. I noticed during the activity that the students were very attentive. On two occasions, when I was assessed the assessors thought that the students were familiar with the story because of the students' attentiveness and because of their participation in the after reading activities.

  2. Reading aloud to children is one of the best ways to help them discover the joy of reading since they will pick up in the person's tone of voice how interesting they story is and its characters. As a result, this would spark their interest in wanting to find out more about what there is in any book and therefore have a joy for reading.

  3. Reading aloud to children improves their listening skills and improves their phonetic skills.
